The image preview is set to 3200 pixels, but I do not know what that means or if reducing this would increase performance. The image files are on an external USB-C hard disk. The software runs on an iMac 5k with 24 GByte RAM. The catalog database that I run my tests with has 24,719 images and is 1.6 GByte in size. The colored tiles look nice, too, but I would expect the thumbnails to be there instantaneously, as is the case in Apple's photo app as well as Media Pro (with exactly the same images from the same source). When scrolling through the thumbnails, it takes a few seconds for every page to refresh the view. Maybe I am missing a resource?ī) The reason, why I want to know the difference is that I have performance issues. And I still do not know the difference between thumbnail and preview. For instance, I am trying to find out what the difference is between preview and thumbnail, so I looked for both keywords in all PDFs. But I cannot search across the PDFs easily. I really like that, plus the possibility of scripting for more complex tasks.Īt the moment, I struggle with two things: Documentation and Performance.Ī) I like the fact that there are short PDFs that explain specific areas of the product. I am in the testing phase of Photo Supreme and I am impressed by the breadth and depth of the functionality.
